Fum place and fantastic staff.
A small cozy restaurant. I had the crispy chicken sandwich which was very good. The food was served fast and the service was really good. Would definitely go back.
Nice food, really enjoyed the place and the service. The burger has a cheap price and totally worth the price.
It is technically built over an old ship, and the bar claims to be one of the three oldest in the city. Service is good, but there are no nautical decorations (this could be good or bad depending on your preferences). Food was good and drinks were strong. Prices average for the edge of fidi neighborhood. Rum selection (essential for an establishment literally named "old ship") was lacking but otherwise have a full bar.Very clean. Appears to have been remodeled in the last couple of years. Would come back here again.
Great place for drinks and a meal
Decent food and drink, but extremely bad acoustics. Very unpleasant place to be once it gets crowded. Everyone is shouting over one another.
Great pub and ppl
Great food, excellent service. Clean and comfortable. Thanks for a perfect Sunday Brunch.
This is an awesome place very clean and in order. The staff is very pleasant and the food is definitely fresh. The restrooms were very clean and the tables and dining ware was also very clean. I definitely recommend the old ship saloon!!
Friendly staff, friendly patrons, and great atmosphere. Stopped for a drink (and had three) and had a blast at the bar. Good beer selections, and the bartender made a pretty darn good old fashioned. When I'm back in town I'll absolutely make another stop here!
Sounds historic, feels sanitized. Very loud. Good for business meals I guess.
Nice corner bar. Bartender s were friendly as I had read in other reviews. Food menu was pretty limited. I got the pulled pork sandwich which was really excellent. Bartender forgot to put my order in so they took $3 off the $16 sandwich. The place was pretty empty at 8pm on a rainy Monday. They have a few TVs with games on them and the music was every hit from the 80's which was the best thing about the place. Can't rate it 5 star because the service flub and sitting with my glass empty several times while eating with the bartender talking to his friends at the other end of the bar. I would certainly recommend this place to hang out with friends or grab a drink and a bite.
I got elote! It was pretty good
Was here for a work happy hour and somehow my personal tab was combined with the group's bill. Didn't find out until most everyone else in the party had left. Shady.
This is one of those places people come to eat, drink, hang out with friends, or watch the game. We grabbed an empty table and soon after, the waitress came by for our drink order and verified if we wanted to eat. She gave us the food menu and came back for our drink and food order in a bit. The menu is small but there was so many things we wanted. So we'll definitely be back. The inside is built from reclaimed wood from a ship. It's really cool looking inside. Seating is limited to a dozen or so tables, so it does get crowded quickly. Good service, good food.
Wings were plump and tasty. Bartender real nice.
Cool gastro pub serving healthy and delicious American style fare. The wedge Burger is my personal favorite. A delicious grass-fed burger patty sits at the bottom covered with Applewood smoked bacon, Gorgonzola cheese and miniature Romaine lettuce head split in two. Covered with Bleu cheese dressing, onion straws and some crumbled bacon bits! This is as about ketogenic a meal as you can get and it's delicious! Metered parking near the park makes this a great place to stop in the middle of a weekday. after 6 p.m. on weekdays, those same meters are free and it becomes even better! Love their drink selections and the service is top-notch!
Nice historical bar. Friendly customers and staff.
Decent prices, good food. Loud.
Great food, great staff. Love it
Good vibes and good beer. SF icon
More like 3.5 stars: perfectly adequate lunch spot but not a place I'm dragging my friends and family to. The fried chicken sandwich was pounded a little too thin, although the side salad was better than expected. And of course, if you need a drink, a great spot to grab one!
I wander into the oldest pub in SF. Awesome people very friendly makes you feel right home. Lots of whiskeys and beer to choose from. Great food. Had great time watching the game and talking to my fellow patrons.
Good food and drinks! People here is really nice. I love the NY steak plate, but the Pisco Punch is really strong😂 my husband loves the beef sandwich, and he would love to have a piece of pickle LOL.
Do you like old ships? What about saloons? This place has one of those for sure. It's a good little bar on the corner of a not so busy street but within walking distance to legitimate restaurants, comedy clubs, and the exclusive Battery club. The drinks are good. Worth looking into and trying something before you're big night. Good pregaming opportunities.
Came here late on a Saturday night and it was pretty empty. I feel like it's busier during the week. It's near the financial district which is dead on the weekends.Good drinks and chill bartenders still. Cool atmosphere.
Great spot, great alcohol selection, and worth visiting for the historical value alone!
Great spot for a drink. Good old 70s/80s punk and new wave playing.
We stop in here frequently for happy hour. The food is delish. I love the Ruben and the seasoned fries. Service is always great! Whether your at the bar or table, they are on top of being there when you need and getting you what you want.
We were the first of the day and the lady server helped us out-of-town people figure out how to pay for parking...or not as the meter we were at was broken.... woo-hoo.... hash and eggs were really good and the griddle cakes fluffy! Syrup was 5âï¸! Prices reasonableSo if you need a quick meal, give The Old Ship a shot!
Tony is the bomb! Great wings, too!
Okay food. Not welcoming to tourists. We ordered our food and I asked for a minute to decide on a beer. Someone else dropped our food off and the waitress didn't come back to our table until I asked a random busboy to grab her. At that point I was fed up. Paid our bill and tip and couldn't get out quick enough. All set with that kind of service.
Dropped in by chance for a bite to eat, service was great, food spectacular, very well priced.Highly recommend stopping in
Awesome spot! I had "The Burger" and it was honestly one of the best burgers I've ever had. It came with sweet potato fries that were really good too. Nice staff, and friendly environment. Would definitely go back again sometime! ðŸ‘ðŸ½
Curly headed server was slow and was more concerned with chatting with friends than doing his job. Had to go to the bar to get a menu and when I finished eating I had to again flag the bartender because my server was too busy socializing the whole time. Food was decent, experience could've been much better with a server who cares about their job.
Great service. Cool old building/ship. Very very loud.
Solid place for pub food, beer and other drinks. Not super pricey like other places at the Ferry Building, awesome oldies rock station playing in the background, sports on the TV, and classy guys running the bar and serving food. This place came in clutch for a late night dinner, we’ll be back!
Great atmosphere and a staff that was extremely welcoming. It will be a busy place for lunch so I would call ahead to check. We went at 1:30pm on a Friday and it had started to wind down. The food was amazing and would recommend it to everyone.
Favorite place in the neighborhood. Hardly anything has changed, and the service is always top notch. Ask for Ray the bartender, he'll be sure to make your visit extra special! He even recommended an amazing dessert place that did not disappoint!
Good food and great service. A nice place to watch a game.
Great service by entire staff! Food was good and served quickly! Good prices, great corner pub with a lot of history!
Good food. Nice atmosphere. Historic place
Went here for drinks and dinner with friends before seeing Dark Kabaret. Bartender is friendly and the Saloon is a nice place to unwind and relax on a Saturday evening. Food is good, drinks are even better. Try their Pisco Punch. Recommend!
NY steak and the beer was really good! Nice interior design and space too.
Great craft cocktails and bar history
Nice place for drinks in the financial district, it was mid afternoon but still had a few in to provide atmosphere. We'd have no problem returning.
It was cool to visit a bar established in 1851. The atmosphere is historic yet modern and the cocktails were delicious. I loved how each drink has a fun fact about the bar and the area. The food was delicious but options were limited. The music was a mix of old school classics which I liked but it looked like it was the bartender's playlist so music styles may vary with bartenders.
Pretty good grilled chicken sandwich.Friendly staff.Nice pub feel.
Amazing place. Very historic and iconic. Top notch San Francisco. Tony the bartender is the best.
Came here for brunch and a drink. After the pancakes and Pimm's cup were devoured, I left satisfied.
